Testosterone is the power behind our power, but as men age — even as early as our mid-thirties — we begin to produce less of it. This tires us out more quickly, makes staying focused on work more difficult, and causes even simple tasks to take longer to complete. Low-T also causes adverse health conditions and debilitating symptoms that go far beyond moodiness, melancholy, loss of libido, and decreased strength and vitality. Fortunately for Southern California males, The Performance Boost Center provides advanced treatments for Low Testosterone plus the other most common men’s health issues…
Dean Glassman about anti-aging services: If you’re frustrated because unlike your friends with perfect complexions you actually do take care of your skin, your acne trigger could be the sneaky ingredients in your products. According to Jeanine Downie, MD, a cosmetic dermatologist in Montclair, New Jersey, mineral oil, for example, is a super-heavy moisturizing agent found in some lotions that’s known to clog your pores and cause you to break out. She also mentions silicones as another ingredient that can plug your pores and result in blemishes. Additionally, fragrance (especially irritating for sensitive skin) and sodium lauryl sulfate (an oil-stripping surfactant) can be found in many products and are also harsh on the skin. What you can do differently: “Read your labels” is easier said than done if you don’t know what to look for, but a good place to start is by getting rid of any products that contain the aforementioned common irritants. Dr. Downie also suggests sticking with products labeled “noncomedogenic,” which means your makeup or skincare has been specifically formulated not to clog your pores. That said, if you’ve tried all the above and your breakouts continue to worsen, make an appointment with your dermatologist to see if you could be allergic to another ingredient in the product.
To most people this might seem nothing short of heretical. What! Skip the most important meal of the day? Aren’t I going to kill my metabolism and pile on the pounds? No, actually you won’t. You see, regular intermittent (short) fasts will actually boost important hormones that will lead to drastically higher overall testosterone and growth hormone levels. Intermittent fasting allows your body a daily opportunity to burn excess body fat for fuel and rid itself of minor toxins before it needs to allocate energy to focus on things like digestion and glycogen synthesis. The quickest way to increase your T is through weight loss. To put it simply, testosterone (both free testosterone and SHBG-bound) levels correlate inversely with common measures of insulin resistance (such as insulin, C-peptide and HOMA-IR) and body fat levels. The inverse association between testosterone and insulin resistance is mediated by adipose tissue and independent of SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin). In simple terms: the more body fat you have, the less testosterone production you will naturally have. Discover more information on Dean Glassman.
