Paphos properties

Paphos properties? Paphos is a city on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Populated since Neolithic times, it has several temples relating to the cult of goddess Aphrodite, whose mythical homeplace was at Old Paphos (Kouklia). New Paphos is the modern city that incorporates the harbor, and the ancient ruins of tombs, fortresses, theaters and villas at Paphos Archaeological Park.

The property itself should already be well prepared even during the initial inspection and appraisal with the real estate agent. Of course we will also make recommendations after the viewing, but starting off on a good note will do absolutely no harm. Ask us what you might be able to do to increase the appeal and value of the property. Depending on your budget, we may be able to suggest something as simple as a coat of paint or minor repairs to more in-depth work which may increase the saleability and value of your property. Remember, the more appealing the initial impression of your property, the more likely you are to attract the right buyers – the right product sells.

A short two-kilometer stroll out of town brings you to the rock-cut chambers of the Tombs of the Kings. These impressive underground tombs date to the 4th century BC and are carved out of solid rock, some decorated with Doric pillars and all sporting a distinct Egyptian influence. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was a burial ground for ancient Paphos during the Greek and Roman periods and probably was used for high ranking officials or members of society of those eras. There are seven tombs to explore here, but if you’re short on time, make a beeline for tomb number three, which contains the most interesting architectural elements with a wealth of columns surrounding its atrium.

During June a total of 646 property sales contracts were deposited at Land Registry offices across the island compared to the 714 deposited in June last year. Although this represents a fall of 10%, it’s a significant improvement on the 80% fall in April and the 71% fall in May. This recovery has been helped by the Government easing the COVID-19 lockdown measures and its decision to introduce an interest rate subsidy for new housing loans. The subsidy will benefit many to take advantage of cheap borrowing costs for four years. (Also, many properties are being offered for sale at a discount of up to 20%.)
